The lunch buffet at Mehfil Indian Food was excellent! Everything was hot and fresh, even an hour before closing, which is a rare and appreciated find. I loved that they change up the buffet offerings, and the current menu can be viewed online ahead of time. They also make it easy to navigate dietary needs by clearly identifying allergens. Kris was an excellent server, kind, attentive, and made the experience even better with their great service. A great bonus is their affordable drink options, including $2.99 beers and $3.99 wines during buffet hours. Overall, a fantastic value with delicious food, thoughtful details, and wonderful hospitality! Was too busy eating before I even took photos. 🤭 this is plate 2 and dessert along with chai included in cost.

Edit after their response: Taste is subjective sure, but food that doesn’t taste great doesn’t taste great to most people. A mistake in taking an order is a mistake, and that’s what I mentioned. A restaurant that acts super defensive rather than taking the feedback from the patrons and working on it—it goes to show how it is run. Original Review: As an Indian, Mehfil in Asheville was sadly a disappointment. We were looking forward to the food given the glowing reviews, but it was all for nought. We visited on our trip to Asheville from Charlotte on a Saturday. For food, we got the Chicken Lollipops and Kadhai Paneer along with some naans. The meat in the chicken tasted quite gummy, like it had either been frozen too long or was overcooked. After a few bites, we couldn’t eat it at all. The Kadhai Paneer was ok, but nothing worth remembering. The Chai was ok, again nothing worth remembering. We visited past their buffet time, so we couldn’t try it. If I remember correctly, their lunch buffet hours(as of July 2026) are 11:30am-2:15pm. The service was lacking too. It was quite slow, and our server didn’t note our order correctly. This resturant was so clean and beautiful! The food was so yummy and fresh! The manager was so sweet and made us feel like family, and with Franciso as our waiter we never waited for anything. This is some of the best Indian I’ve ever had. Definitely get the mango shrimp.

this establishment definitely deserves its awards. we came in for the lunch buffet and everything was absolutely delicious. for only $15.99 per person, we ate until our belly’s were bulging. unlimited curries, tandoori chicken, chai, coffee, sweet lassi and etc. absolutely made my week. all of the staff are super kind and helpful as well. i also really appreciated the daily buffet menus that are updated on the website.

We really enjoyed our experience at Mehfil on Tuesday evening. The service was friendly and perfectly timed, with our server offering great recommendations and giving us the time we needed to decide. We shared the chicken lollipops, medium spicy, and they were excellent! More sweet and tangy than I expected, with the perfect heat level. Entrees were the Goa fish curry and the lamb korma, both mild spicy. Both were really tasty and great portions. We think we should’ve gotten medium spicy on the korma, because it’s very mild by nature and could have used more heat to make it even better. The fish was cooked perfectly and silky. Fantastic garlic naan and perfectly cooked rice were excellent accompaniments! And the Asian pear mule was an outstanding cocktail. We heard the buffet has different options every day of the week so we really want to go back to try it! This is a really beautiful restaurant with charming people and exceptional food!
